Special concentrated dye solution for wood impregnation by immersion.

The acrylic wood-impregnation colourant is a specialised concentrated dye formulation used in industrial wood-preservation processes, providing the characteristic green or brown tint commonly seen in pressure-treated exterior timber (such as posts, structural lumber, fencing and outdoor wooden components).

The product contains high-performance, water-dispersible pigments designed to penetrate deeply into the wood during the impregnation cycle (in either autoclave/pressure systems or open-tank immersion), without forming a film or altering the natural texture of the substrate.

Step 1: Stabilisation of the Mixture

The process begins with the addition of three 11-litre containers of colourant into the base solution, in order to stabilise the colour shade within a 15–17-ton water tank.
This step is essential for establishing the baseline impregnation tone, ensuring uniformity and consistent colour strength throughout the treatment process.

Step 2: Immersion and Colourant Adjustment

During the immersion phase, each pallet of timber requires careful monitoring.
Maintaining the correct shade is critical, especially when additional water is introduced into the system.

At this stage, the colourant plays a decisive role: depending on process conditions and production requirements, 2 to 5 kg of colourant are added to keep the mixture stable and preserve the target appearance.

Proper adherence to these steps ensures a high-quality, uniform colour result, preventing tonal deviations and improving the overall efficiency of the production process.

Stabilisation Additive Recommendation:

To stabilise the colourant solution in a 15–17-ton tank, it is recommended to add 2–3 containers of 10 litres each of Hydroxyl Lassure varnish.

Minimum Requirements

  • Colourant concentration: 0.2%

  • Varnish concentration: 0.2%

The addition of the varnish ensures the minimum required stabilisation of the solution, contributing to improved performance, enhanced dispersion and better overall mixture homogeneity.
